Brunch with the birthday boy

Left Melbourne on the 5pm flight to Bali with Jetstar, had a cheap upgrade to business and it was a perfect flight getting in at around 9.15pm. Took a Grab to Jimbaran and were there in no time to Del Cielo Villas sitting high up on the hills of Jimbaran...perfect spot for a cold beer after our flight. In all the years we have been coming to Bali this is our first time in Jimbaran.....to stay that is....have been to restaurants here. I think it has been perfect for a week just to do nothing but relax and do a few walks. Though there are a lot of high end hotels here and their restaurants are rather xxxxy we found plenty of lovely places to eat at reasonable prices.....but not where near the quality or choice of Seminyak. Though one of our all time faves is here....Kats Kitchen....cannot believe it is still here after we have been coming here for over 15 years to eat her gorgeous Thai food...it really is a taste sensation. Also walked up the Bukit way one night and ate at Gorgonzola which was also very good Italian Food. All in all a fabulous week.....sunset happy hours

JIMBARAN BEACH

on the beach....eating great Indonesian food. One day we walked into Kuta (the southern end near Discovery Mall) 7km one way....knew we were in Kuta...full of bogans,braided hair, party booze buses etc....glad we never stay here! A place where a lot of ugly Australians stay. Have met a lovely couple from Leongatha and they shared the gorgeous Mulia Brunch with us for Johns birthday on Friday...the Mulia now have their Sunday Brunch on a Friday ....so that was a perfect celebration and a bit naughty....lots of scrumptious food, tropical cocktails and wine!!!! The choice of food is just amazing succulent roast meats, fresh grill grilling to order meats, fish, prawns, the cheese area is just amazing, there is sushi, sashimi, deserts galoure, salads and a huge choice of tapas...the list just goes on. We don't really get much wine whilst here as it too expensive....this is a real treat and we always do this once whilst here. When my beautiful cousin arrives Saturday we will be doing this all over again....two treats in one trip! The weather has been perfect though a little hot a couple of days...always around 28, 20 but a couple of days it was 34 and

35...with the humidity this is a little too much to take! Looking forward to our next two weeks in Seminyak and spending some quality time with Kaz and Reg.
