The causeway and entrance
This is one of the causeway that were built to enter Angkor Wat November 17th - Agra India
Fortunately we were able to fly directly into an air-force base in Agra and avoid over a 2 hour bus ride that we would have had to endure had we landed in Calcutta. Last nights blog was definitely a horse race. In Siem Reap the only internet connection in the hotel was in the business centre, combine this with few computers and only one external connection if you had your own computer and a bunch of Westerners who all wanted access and you have a bottle neck. Last night when I published my last blog it was a race between how long it took to download pictures (a long time for each one) and 11 p.m when they turned the server off. The result was that I was unable to post all of the pictures that I would have liked. I am attaching some of them today.
First, however, in my last blog I said how fortunate were to live in North America; driving in from the airport I have to say that the poverty level witnessed so far the worst we have encountered. I haven’t said much about our travel accommodations so here is

On the different boast there is everything ranging from gogs to pigs an update. Upon boarding the plane we are all offered a choice of champagne, orange juice, water or a combination of champagne and orange juice. Shortly after we take off it is hot towels to wipe you hands, followed by your choice of pop, wine, etc then a meal. In addition to this the stewardess had Mare and Sharon, a fellow passenger give the takeoff demonstration that we have all witnessed a thousand times, just goes to show that Mare and Sharon have paid attention. It got a good laugh from most of the other passengers. Our fellow travelers are divided into 3 groups, Green, Red and Blue. We are in the Green Group. Our leader is Pat Mussiux, she is terrific with a great sense of humour. The hotels have been outstanding, our guides in both Osaka and Hong Kong were really good plus very funny, in Cambodia our guide was excellent, and in most cases our guide in Saigon would also be classified as being very good if we didn’t have the others to compare him to. Last night in Siem Reap a special dinner was put on for us around the swimming pool with floating lights and

The mother would race her dugout up to our boat and the little girl would jump aboard and sell pop and beer. The little boy about 3 years old would also jump aboard and sell bananas. Then mom would race back and they would jump back into the dug out. candles in small boats plus a floating lighted model of Angkor Wat, in addition there was a show with Cambodian dancers doing traditional dances. In Osaka we had the Geishas and Drummers, in Whitehorse we were met by dancing girls plus the mayor, and then had music provided for our evening entertainment. In other words this is turning into as great a trip as we had last year.
