Okay, I know it's a corny title and I'm aware that a 'Bird of Paradise' doesn't exist here in Rajasthan*, but a man and his blog have to start somewhere! High Flying Photos!
While your dubious ability to tell a Purple Swamphen from a White-eared Bulbul left me wondering about your birding prowess - come on, everyone knows that! ;) - you have redeemed yourself through photos. Great shot of the Indian Roller! What gorgeous plumage.

I'm a 'birder' in training!
All I can say is: the 'Grey haired nomads' are great teachers. As for the Indian Roller, it's a fleeting flash of colour and this is one of many shots - but the only one that's even remotely in focus!! I'm still learning...

Thanks Michelle. There are some bloggers here who take truly world-class pictures. I just try to take photos that I'm not too ashamed to show others! As for panoramas, I love the super new system - why would anyone want just one panorama when you can have a dozen, eh?

The 'Grey haired nomads' are great teachers but, until I can afford Swarovski binoculars like theirs, I'll have to rely on my camera and its telephoto lens...
