FIELD school

Hi all,

I know that everyone understood that I meant Field school rather than Filed school, but I get embarrassed about the typo anyway. I was tired!!

The ladies and I are in Jodhpur right now, having taken the 6 hour over-night train from Jaisalmer last night. Jaisalmer is a really cool little city, if you ever get a chance to go. It looks almost unreal, built out of sandstone with intricately carved 'Havelis' or houses, and tiny narrow streets filled with people, cows, dogs and the occasional scooter, but no cars.

We also did a two day, one night camel safari that was really cool. Camels are not the most comfortable animals to ride, but at least we didn't get spit on. The best part of the trip was sleeping under the open, star-filled sky in sand dunes, complete with campfire, chai and singing camel drivers.

We've got a couple of days in Jodhpur now before we fly back to Delhi. Tomorrow we'll go to the fort and see the blue city from up high.
