Visted Karni Mata temple in Deshnok. Silver doors address the visitor but inside lies hundreds of dirty, stinking, flee ridden rats - really enjoyed it but expected to see more rats!

According to the Lonely Planet, Karni Mata, an incarnation of Durga asked the God of Death to restore life to the son of a grieving storyteller, of course he refused so Yama reincarnated all of the dead storytellers as rats thus depriving Yama of human souls - so that explains it!

Apart from the temple there was nothing else to see in Deshnok. Managed to grab a seat on a bus to Bikaner, well, on the top - India Jones style. Hanging on for my life for the entire journey but it was a lot of fun and chatted with some interesting locals.
