Arriving in Delhi

Set off from Totnes early on 20th by train to get to Heathrow for a late afternoon flight to Delhi via Dubai. Passed lots of snow on train journey into London and looked forward to getting away from the English Winter. Arrived early this morning in Delhi to be met by a thick blanket of fog which had virtually brought the airport to a standstill. We were stuck in the plane for over 2 hours waiting for a berthing spot. Welcome to India. Eventually got to the hotel early afternoon and it is a haven of tranquility in amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. It is called the Shanti Home Hotel and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Very pleasant rooftop restaurant where we experienced our first Indian meal in India - delicious and so full of varying flavours. Tomorrow is sightseeing. More later with hopefully some photos
