It’s a long time since I have had the opportunity of visiting India and especially Kerala which is otherwise known as “Gods Own Country” and truly so with its greenery , beaches and mountains all compacted in its small landscape.
Allepey was great as ever and so was Kovalam beach but I happened to discover something this time which was different absolutely amazing in Munnar a known hill station of Kerala
As I walked through Munnar town, which is just like any other town full of people and wares, I wanted to get away from this din and noise which is otherwise very much a normal thing in India. I walked into an internet café and tumbled on this website www.wildelephant.net which talked about a resort in Munnar called "Wild Elephant Resort" a funny name which claimed could offer serenity and peace.
It was only by late evening that I managed to reach the place and it was dark by that time when the staff put me in a cottage called as a “Treetop Cottage’ a fairly well furnished cottage by Indian standards and we slept off after having a sumptuous Indian dinner with some chappati (Indian bread) and chicken curry.

It was around 7 AM when I was woken up by my better half (Alice) who seemed exited about what she saw and so was I , looking out of the window I could see a waterfall flowing from the hills. I opened the door and looked at nature and its beauty which was absolutely amazing and the place serene and pristine. The only sound which could be heard was the sound of the gurgling waterfalls

We decided to stay for three nights as fortunately the treetop cottage was available . The tree top cottage was really amazing with and excellent view of the mountains, tea gardens and the waterfalls.

The staff ever ready to help you and the food was extremely delicious and prepared to our taste with less chilly and we were amazed that such a place really did exist in India and in Kerala where one finds people and noise wherever one goes.
