One after another, the printer was getting tasks and without any fail, it was accomplishing each one. Even though I have seen the functioning of printer multiple times in my life but still whenever I see it working, like a small child I used to stare at it. Suddenly hot drops of tea fall on my leg to remind me I came there to take a cup of hot tea and not to stare at the printer. Soon I closed the nozzle and ran to my place. I was asked to submit my assignment before noon
and to surprise I haven’t started its introduction. I started surfing the internet to collect relevant information for my topic. While reading the content in various sites suddenly a pop-up menu came up. Whenever such a pop-up windows come I used to close it by clicking on the ‘X’ icon. But this time as I was moving my cursor to the ‘x’ icon its caption struck me and asked me to pause for a while for reading it. I exactly don’t remember what it was written. It was something like this ‘top 7 places to be visited before retirement’. Those words really created a spark
in me. It forced me to read the whole advertisement. It highlighted a few places which are must to visit before we enter the age of 35. Most destinations were highly adventurous and it truly demanded stable physical health. Most of the places were in south India. At first, I thought of availing of the packages. As it comprises the
best place for trekking and also for practising various other adventure games at
cheap rates. But then my mind started whispering whether I am getting old soon. Can’t I wait till I turn 35? By then I will sound financially good. Suddenly I heard some jerking sound. I just turned back and saw the printer whose work efficiency I praised a few minutes earlier now have started showing the signs of retirement or in other words informing us it needs some break or will move to a prolonged strike. The printer’s performance enlightened my mind by forcing me to rethink the matter of availing
tour packages to
Kerala(as it is known as the paradise for adventure lovers). Who knows what will be my condition when I turn 35.
As we all know, indulging in adventure activities will boost our
confidence level but when it is with our buddies it will incite joy and happiness. The packages were crafted by the leading
tour operators of Kerala known as
Dream Holidays. I shared the message to my buddies who were working in different companies but in
Delhi itself. I never expected a sudden reply from them. To my surprise, all of them replied within an hour with a positive message. I revert them by telling them we will meet in a coffee shop on Saturday to discuss it. I concluded the chat and started working on my assignment. By 3 pm all of us arrived at our favourite coffee shop. We 3 beautiful girls ordered chocolate coffee whereas boys demanded a cappuccino. We started our conversation. All of them wanted to know only one thing that propelled me to organize a trip that too adventurous. I told them the whole incident. I showed them the Dream Holidays website and introduced them to their exciting packages. There were impressed. By the time our order arrived along with coffee, we had also ordered for the snacks. While savouring the dishes we were discussing which place to be selected for trekking. At first, we thought of choosing Kolukkumalai peak but then changed our mind by seeing the stunning pictures of Meesapulimala. The images told us that the trekking on it will be a little scary but thrilling too. We had two mindsets whether to select Meesapulimala or to drop it. One of our friends told us, it was for the first time we are visiting
Kerala so why don’t we try something which rushes our adrenaline. And there is also one benefit of selecting Meesapulimala one could stroll through the thick plantations of tea and coffee in Munnar. His words motivated us and therefore we decided to avail of the
packages. The packages also included the
prices of air tickets
from Delhi to Kerala.
We started our trip by boarding a flight from Indira Gandhi International airport. Our tour coordinators had tried their best to purchase tickets for the morning but as it was season time they couldn’t make it. We reached Cochin international airport by noon. We were feeling very hungry and our humble tour representative took us to one of the classy hotels in Kochi. We satiate our appetite by savouring south Indian dishes. From there we were taken to the silent valley which required 4 hours of journey from Kochi. The travel comprised several deviations and hairpins. We reached the spot by 6 or 7 pm, I don’t remember exactly. There no words to describe its beauty. The place is bestowed with immense solitude, milky waterways, and dazzling skies. We moved to our camps. I wondered how the light and fans were working over there. It is by the Microturbines replied by our guide. After our college trip, it was for the first time we all together got a chance to meet and spend quality time. Therefore we arranged a campfire and shared all our stories and also new love affairs. We really enjoyed the time as there was no one such as phone calls and messages from social media to interrupt our happiness.
The next morning we started our trekking by 8 am. Trekking was really exciting as the path was a steep ascent. It needed only half an hour to reach the top of the falls. As it was summer season leeches did not irritate us as it used to do with other travellers. After relaxing for a while we started our activity by walking through the grasslands. It not only helped to maintain our stamina but reduce the distance to travel. By noon we reached the Rhodo valley and behind lays our final destination. The stupendous image of Meesapulimala which positioned at 2684 m above the mean sea level inspired us. At Rhode valley, we hardly took 30 minutes break. From there we started to move but I was not able to trek as fast as I did earlier. I was amazed at what happened to me I then realized it is because I had started draining my stamina. Each time when we thought of returning back the amusing picture of the mountain lured us. Before reaching the mountain we had to cross one more valley we were really exhausted and took a little bit longer break over there.
Without looking down or up we all concentrated on our footsteps and started to trek to the mountain. By 2 pm we reached the top of the mountain. I don’t know what I should say. For a moment we thought we were standing in heaven. Looking at us the clouds were conversing (‘maybe asking each other why these people came here to disturb us etc.!'). Although we tried our best to capture the splendid images of the sky and surroundings, our camera failed to copy the same. It gave only half per cent of what we saw with our naked eye. After spending valuable moments over there we descended to our camp. The return journey was a little bit scary. The next two days we visited other main tourist destinations of Munnar. On 4th day we moved to our hometown with loads of memories.
