Hampi

The ancient capital of the Vijayanagar Empire has a lot to offer to a lost soul as servidor, but never in my wildest dreams I was expecting to enter to Lara Croft's world in India. It is off season and there are no other tourists whatsoever. it is hot, as I have mentioned before, but hey! you can't have the cake and eat it too. ( can you?)
I arrived on a dodgy bus to a dusty small , but very atmospheric village and got a really good deal on a hotel room overlooking the gopuram of the Virupaksha Temple. After I had my 67th thali, I set off to check out my surroundings. While peeking trough the glassless bus window I could tell that there are a lot of ruins just scattered around the place. The area of the original capital occupied 29sq km , and columns, buildings and temples are dotting the countriside around Hampi. ( some surrendered already to the jungle..cooooollll)
My first encounter with the Vijayanagar architecture is on the site of the Achyutaraya temple. I was completely alone. There were no Indian tourists, no touts, no crapvendors, no beggars, no children asking me for pen, chocolate, sweets, one photo or one rupee. There was no one, but me, the temple and a couple of bats inhabitating the holoes between the intricate carvings of the temple ceiling. The place is misterious and unnerving. while I circle around the main temple building embedded in a huge boulder sudenly I feel very weary and expect the ghosts to come out and play at any moment. Creepy, but really cool : ))))
I stayed 3 days and wondered around countless ruins ,boulders and temples. I hope you like the pics.

A Vijayanagar birodalom néhai fővárosának maradványait .......Hampi, tökéletes búvóhely az elveszett lelkek számára ( mint szerény személyem is) , de a legmerészebb álmaimban sem gondoltam volna, hogy Lara Croft birodalmába csöppenek itt Indiában. Holt szezon van, így egyedül vagyok szinte az egész városban. Forrong a levegő, lehet vagy 40 fok, de hát valamit valamiért ; )
Egy rozoga buszon érkeztem meg ebbe a poros, de nagyon hangulatos kis faluba, és a holt szezonnak köszönhetően nagyon olcsón remek szállást találtam csodás panorámás kilátással a Virupaksha templom Gopuramjára.
Miután elfogyasztottam 67. thalimat ( eljutottam oda, hogy számolom őket már csak kíváncsiságból; )
Elindultam, hogy felderítsem a terepet. Mint az üveget nélkülöző busz ablakon át is észrevételezhettem a falu környékén elszórtan helyezkednek e l a romok es az, templomok melyek fennmaradtak a letűnt birodalomból mely eredetileg 29 km2 területet foglalt el. Némely templomot, illetve épületet a növényzet benőtt így igazi vadregényes helyre csöppentem : )
Az első Vijayanagar templom melyet meglátogattam az Achyutara Templom volt. Egyedül barangoltam a templom környékén. Itt nem voltak indiai turisták, riksások, idegenvezetők, koldusok, tollat, édességet 1 rúpiát kolduló gyerekek. Rajtam kívül - és a par denevéren kívül kik a faragott kőmennyezet réseiben laktak- senki nem volt, mely a helyet kísértetiessé elvarázsolt hangulatúvá tette.
3 napig maradtam e varázslatos falucskában és bolyongtam a templomok, oszlopok és romok közt
