Hong Kong Island skyline, Hong Kong After a slow start Cormac, Leah & I headed out - first in search of Vegemite (no luck), then up Jordan Street & onto Nathan Road, which is one of the main shopping precints. We were following a walk in Leah's book on Hong Kong, which took us down to the Ferry terminal, where we found a mall & a cool restaurant with awesome food & views to boot. I refuelled on Nacho's & Iced Coffee, then Leah & I took the underground train across to Hong Kong Island where we wandered up through a lovely park (with lots of steps) & took what I think is possibly the worlds steepest tram ride to Peak lookout. I grabbed a Lonely Planet on Nepal from the Dymocks store at the peak & we headed off on a 3km loop to check out what turned out to be magnificent views of Hong Kong. We caught the Star Ferry back to the mainland on dusk to see the harbour lit up & met Cormac at PJ Murphys for a beer & dinner. Still requiring rest from last night's efforts, I headed home early to watch Gladiator & had possibly the worst nights sleep ever!

Hong Kong Island skyline, Hong Kong Not only was I not tired & could not get to sleep (probably overtired), but the air conditioner wouldn't go above about 10 degrees celcius, so every time I got up it would go on for a couple of minutes to cool down the room & I would get too cold & have to turn it off. Unfortunately there were no windows to open for fresh (well sort of) air & I accidentally fell asleep with the air conditioner on & woke up later freezing. No surprises when I woke up the next day with a cold...bugga!
