Symphony of Shite - attempt 1 So managed to get rank bank out of his smelly scratcher so we could actually see HK, can't believe we spent most of our 1st day in bed, damn those flaming lamborghini's!!!
We went to the avenue of stars to catch the symphony of lights...due to the mist that settled over the whole of HK island, you could call it symphony of shite!!! We left after about 5 minutes and jumped on the mtr to central so Graeme could see Lan Kwai Fong. We took a wee trek through the streets and stopped at a wee Vietnamese place. We munched on beef wrapped with pepper leaves, morning glory smothered in yummy garlic and noodles with beef and fresh coriander, easy to say this was the best meal we had in HK....made us excited for when we head to Vietnam for all the yummy food we are going to eat there, happy days.
After our munch we headed down to the corner of Lan Kwai Fong where a bunch of chinese teenagers were busking, needless to say it was not long before Graeme had a hold of the guitar and mic serrenading the people of HK. After spending a good

Symphony of Shite - attempt 1 couple hours hanging about the streets of HK listening to all of the fine talent and drinking beer, we jumped a taxi and headed back to our hostel, i was choking to get some sort of decent sleep so we could set off early in the morning for our action packed day (yes i did think that we were leaving on Monday so Sunday was our only FULL day left in HK - later i did realise that it was actually TUESDAY we were flying out form HK and NOT Monday, proper spaz i am, the hostel was booked for the full 4 nights aswell....doh!!!)
Up early doors on Sunday (4th March) and headed to the Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha) at Ngong Ping in Lan Tau Island. We were looking forward to our cable car ride to the big buddha but when we arrived in Lan Tau, we were informed that the service was suspended until further notice and we had to get a bus. Many times on the journey i thought the bus was going to roll back down the steep hills, it struggled in blooming 1st gear to get our asses up to the buddha, it

Mmm beef wrapped in pepper leaves was about a half hour trek on the bus too.
When we reached the top, we had a fair hike to the Buddha....421 steps to be exact. There were many sweaty's and heavy breathers when we reached the top. We had a wee walk around and then headed up the spiral staircase inside to the top of the buddhas head, pretty interesting.
After treking about the grounds at Ngong Ping, we headed back to HK island to catch the peak tram so Graeme could see the amazing views of HK island from the highest point. I thought it would be a good idea to head up late afternoon so he could see it through the day and also at night, as both are different magnificent views. For some shitty reason, the fog was being a total wanker and ruining rank banks experience - yep you guessed it, we could see sweet FA!! Grrrr.... After waiting in a stupidly massive queue, paying $80 and getting pushed about by bloody impatient people, we could see F all, the fog had completely covered us and we couldn't see anything outside whatsoever. At least we did get some good fries made for

Mmm yummy beef noodles and morning glory real tatties, yum!!! After the peak we headed back to the avenue of the stars for the symphony of shite again, and yep you guessed it.....it was shite!!! Fog took over for another night, total pants!!
Monday (5th March) we met with Graeme's mate from work, Paul Storrie and his wife Jessica. We found a nice wee chinese restaurant (actually looked like we were crashing someone's wedding, was pretty odd, was equipped with a massive 6-tiered wedding cake, chandeliers, white linen and a fashion walkway-strange!!) for dim sum. Munched on some char sui bau (chinese bbq pork steamed buns, my fave!), chicken feet, beef dumplings (feck knows what they gave us instead but it wasn't beef dumplings, looked like some snail shell made from pastry), pork belly, duck, bbq pork, a prawn fishy thing (eek, never gave this a bash), and some stuffed pork white noodle thing (can't remember what it was called). Washed it all down with some fine chinese tea, yum, my fraverit (EMMA!!, haha!)
After lunch me and g headed off on our own to go and buy a camera in mong kok, picked up a pretty good one for buttons, something that we can

1st COCKtail - banana daqhuiri carry about with us when we are out partying so we don't have to take the big fuji-brick.
We got some cool iced fruit drink that had big bits of jelly in it, was yum. Although when you were slurping the jelly through the straw it did put you in mind of worms, blaaa!
We made one last final attempt to see the symphony of shite....and............we could see some of the laser, thank feck. We cracked a few beers and watched the lasers and then headed off to a wee square in Tsim Sha Tui to listen to some music and drink some jack d in a can, yum. As we sat there for a while, we realised it was the square where all the HK hookers hung about, made quite a wee giggle watching the Madam harrass all the men to take her girls away, (pretty sad actually).
Tuesday (6th March) was time to pack up and get the F out of our wee pokey hostel. We made the dreaded trek to the airport, man our bags weighed a ton on our backs!! Couldn't stand up straight as if i did i would've ended up on

Busker Rankin my back like an upside down turtle.
We got a munch in the airport - pizza express....yum!!! And then set off on our next journey down under mate...
