Tea at R66Tea at R66Tea at R66

I don't know why it is RR 66 -- it is on the 62nd floor
Arriving in Hong Kong I found Jacqui crabby and stressed after several days of unsuccessful meetings and a rather over successful conference demolishing her stock of books and journals in the first morning. Being the kind and helpful mother that I am, I suggested we go to tea to take away the stress from the last few day. We chose the RR66 (Revolving Restaurant 66), since it was recommended in the guidebook. Now our family has always been known to love a good cuppa, and I will happily admit there are several favorites that come to mind. The Houghton Tearoom always has a good selection of excellent tea and delicious eats, Betty's tearoom in York speaks for itself, RR66, however, with its 'all day pot' of thick coffee like appearance and average tea time spread was not what we expected by high tea. The view on the other hand speaks for itself.

Having recovered from the outrageously strong tea, we went on to explore some of Hong Kong's greatest features...the shopping! Some of the other highlights included taking the tram up to Victoria Peak, and a tea appreciation class where we learned exactly where RR66 had gotten it so wrong.

Even if the tea wasn't

If any of you are thinking that the narrative voice of this blog is not what you would expect from Marilyn, it is probably because she is not writing it. Her kind, generous, wonderful (and modest) daughter is writing it for her as she has completely crashed out into an unwakable sleep. Don't you worry though the times that Marilyn is writing this more than likely it is because Jacqui has beaten her to bed!
