After one day delay, (hum the fish in overdose is not good for the organism), we set off for the Tiger Leaping Gorge aka the mandatory hike when you are in this area! And it is well worth the effort. As we were leaving our hostel, we met three guys who were also heading to the Gorge. When they found out that we were planning to walk the upper trail and overnight in the Gorge they disappeared, only to reappear few meters further saying they would come with us! So along our travel we learn the magic Chinese word: "Itshi!!", which means “together” thus we start to slowly understand the Chinese psychology, that falls down on our head in many other times… (see next)
I think the photos of the Gorge are going to talk about the sceneries for us.
After one day hiking with 3 Chineses in our company, we arrived in the “Half Way” a guesthouse on the top with a beautiful view on the mountain facing our place, terrace on the roof! We also found the frenchies we had met in Dali, world is small.
The dinner finished we hqd to take part in a Karaoke, people in
East Asian seems to be completely fan of it, they an App on the iPhones for it (Yiming if ever read that, I will catch you back in Kiel to have a play!!). Of course, they already found other “friends” up in the mountains… Well, I think no comments are available for that part of the travel.
The next day, they left the place way before us saying goodbye, however down to the river we met them again, “Itshi” forever!!
So on our way back from the hike, we decided to stay in Lijiang, tourist for tourist. At least the town is beautiful by night. On our way, we bought a grilled duck (second round) and went to a super friendly guesthouse.
