Sun 24 / 10 Kumming

A relaxing start to the day as we will travel at 10:00

It was great to catch up with home on Skype

It was only a couple of hours bus ride to the Stone Forrest with an early lunch en-route. Again the Expressway system is impressive with multi deck road transfers

Passed over the Kumming to the Vietnamese border train of (un-determinable) great length and paralleled the rail line as it clung to the side of the hills and through extensive tunnels in very mountainous country

Lunch was somewhat impressive with semi japanese style sitting close to the floor and pine needles carpeting

A very exhaustive 3 hours walk through the World Heritage Stone Forrest certainly tested the fitness of ailing bodies - particularly the stairway to the lookout platform

A detour on the way back to the hotel took us to the cultural space that includes a government endorsed jade place. As I enjoyed resting at the garden area many of the group were delighted in the quality (and cost) of the product

Evening meal was had an upmarket restaurant en route back to the hotel

A quiet stroll around the neighbourhood before an evening catch up with home on Skype
