Turpan is known to have the sweetest grapes. We visited a local family grower and was greeted by the farmer's 2 daughters. The youngest daughter is so beautiful - don't you think?

The grape growing season is only from July through August. A typical local grower will make about 30,000 RMB. We purchased over 4 Kilos for 30RMB. They were the sweetest grapes we've ever tasted. Its sweetness is attributed to the extremely hot temperatures of 118 degrees.

We sat in the farmer's grape arbor and enjoyed our purchase and listened to James, our national guide, express his political views on China.

Tonight we are scheduled to go to Dunhuang by train. It will take almost 11 hours to get there.
