Pilgrims come to Lhasa in family groups so that, unlike in the rest of China, it is possible to see how family relationships work. It is common for the whole family to dress up for the occasion as well; as happened here.

Even the back of a head is interesting in Lhasa. The women braid their hair in so many different and intriguing ways.

Finally walking away from Jokhang (after doing my fourth or fifth kora, I forget) I passed this little spice store.

The Potala stands out like a sore thumb, sitting on the only significant rock in the entire valley, it would be viewable from just about anywhere in Lhasa were the streets not so narrow.

This one is just nearby to the Potala and was the residence of several Dalai Lamas during their younger years.
