Countryside en route to Lhatse, Tibet Today was a long travel day on a tough, unsealed road. Our first stop on the Tibetan plateau was at Lalung La pass (5200m), where we had some spectacular views of the Himalayan range & Shisabangma, the highest peak in Tibet. We stopped for a very average lunch in Lao Tingri & afterwards some of the group took a walk to view Mt Everest from a local lookout. Monika, Betsy & I found a little shop & purchased a variety of goodies to satisfy our chocolate cravings.
I started feeling sick mid afternoon & couldn't decide if it was from the undercooked, vegetarian momos I'd had for lunch, the chocolate from afternoon tea or altitude sickness. The last couple hours of our journey were not pleasant for me, as I constantly fought the desire to throw up & was stoked to arrive in Lhatse, just to lie down for a while. Quite a few others from our bus group weren't feeling a hundred percent either & although I'd been taking my Diamox, by this stage I had a hankering it was the altitude that was making me feel so crook. After a couple hours rest, I still felt nauseous and

Township en route to Lhatse, Tibet feverish & decided to skip dinner in favour of a really good sleep, so as not to miss any more of the trip.
