Sun 31 / 10 E'mai Shun

To day was to be one of the highlights of the tour with a day trip to UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage area of E'mai Mountain to view the Golden Summit

It was a relaxing 06:30 wake-up call with no requirement to 'Pack and go' for a hotel change as it was a simple day tour starting at 08:30to and back to this Hua Sheng Hotel. With the weathe some what chilly it was time for layers upon layers

It was a short hop to the entrance to the entrance to the park then a change to Park buses for the 2 hr drive up the very steep and winding road to the base of the walking path with a heavy overcast fog that restricted visibility to the yellow road centreline and steel barrier for approx 25 m

On arrival at the it was wet weather gear with the very heavy mist and a re-think of plans, An early lunch was agreed hoping that the weather will clear in the following hour or so.

We tracked of after lunch again with the skies very heavy with mist as we climbed the 800 plus steps over 1.5 km to the base of the Golden Summit cableway

A chairlift into the clouds did not give much confidence we will be able to see more that the mist.
On arrival at the top station 3100 m above sea level we stepped into the heavens above the clouds to reveal a cool but clear day

Over 3 hours we were able to view the magnificent golden stature and internal temple

Returning to earth via the 800 + steps we then travelled do the tourist information area to find the museum at closing time

Following dinner back at the hotel with a single table for the 14 of the group for the first time it was a relaxing catch up

An after dinner stroll presented Rebecca with additional buying opportunities and enable us to see the 'flash mob' type events where people just turn up and participate on dance / tai chi / exercise / whatever

Again a late catch up with home
