My roomate and I decided to make a quick trip to the post office after school to mail some postcards and letters. The post office is about a 40 min walk from our house, which we have walked to before. Suddenly today it got really cold and windy (basically it went from being 25 degress to 9) in one day.

We decided to take a cab from the school, and it got us there no problem. The post office was empty and we were in and out within 20 mins! Perfect!
We went outside to try and find a taxi.....but there were none....or they were all full. Meanwhile the wind is blowing and we are freezing.

We decided to stop at our little coffee shop down the road- hoping they could call a taxi for us. We ended up ordering a hot drink and trying to explain to our favourite waitress that we needed a taxi.....but she only speaks Chinese so we quickly ended up doing as many jestures/body language/motions in attempt to explain what we wanted. She is really nice and she just smiled and said she didn't understand in Chinese.

We called the taxi company we usually use and the woman told us there were no taxi's available.

So as the saying goes; if you can't beat'em, join'em......and so we did.

We each ordered some dinner and decided that that wasn't enough and ordered some onion rings afterwards. They were delicious I might add 😊

The nice waitress wanted to help us.... and typed the word taxi in her cell phone (which translated it in English for us to read) We told her that is what we wanted and she started calling taxi companys for us....in the meantime we ate our onion rings and looked at Chinese fashion magazines.

Our "quick trip" turned into 3 hours later.
So I hope if you are reading this, and end up getting mail from me.....you will know that it was sent with love. haha.
