After travelling for nearly two weeks without stopping for more than two days in any one place we were really looking forward to staying put for four whole days in Shanghai, not to mention catching up with our Uni pal Markie Boy in his lovely 30th floor apartment - absolute luxury!

During our time in Shanghai we managed to..... catch up on much needed sleep, have wonderful spacious luxury showers, do our washing, Andy had an amazing Chinese massage, enjoyed many restuarant meals, shopping in Old Town, the fake market as well as window shopping in the large department stores, went up the Oriental Pearl Observation Tower, slap up American breakfast, taking cakes to Mark's office, Shanghai museum, visiting a traditional 1920's house of nobility...

Highlights for us include.

• Seeing Markie Boy (of course!)

• Views of the Shanghai skyline day & night

• Old Town (go the the southern part as that is really old)

• Fake Market haggling with some help from Mark's work colleague - Brianiac...

• Seeing an Ipswich Town football pendant in Joes American diner

• Finding out that Mark has had his laundry done for 18 months because he thought the washing machine was all in Chinese - end's up being in English - Priceless!!

• Scrumy ice creams @ coldstones.

Will also add a blog section on Chinese people. Next stop is Japan.....

Hello again! =)
Hi! This isn't technically a comment on your blog entry, I'm afraid, although I DO think your travels so far have been really cool! Not sure if you remember me, but I'm Zealyn, the Singaporean girl you met at the bus stop in front of Utano Youth Hostel in Kyoto. I'm embarrassed to say I lost that little slip of paper you gave me with your email address on it so I couldn't contact you but I remembered your names so I managed to find your blog ^_^ Anyway, I hope you're having a lovely time in Japan and it would be great to hear from you guys again sometime!
