We arrived in Hong Kong today. We took the overnight train, everyone thought we were crazy. It left Shanghai on Wednesday at 5.09pm and arrived in Hong Kong today (Thursday) at 1.09pm. I was hoping to get a deluxe sleeper - 2 berth, but I ended up with a 4 berth and we shared with an old Chinese guy who snored all night. We managed to sleep through it though. Catering facilities were basic. We had space food. You get a flask of hot water so bringing your own Chinese pot noodle is a good idea! All in all, though, we're glad we did the train instead of flying, it was an experience.

I was very excited that you can get lemsips in Hong Kong, I have a cold.

There have been some requests for photos of our apartment in Shanghai. It wasn't fancy, but had everything we needed and served us well. So here they are!
