What's this?What's this?What's this?

Something they gave me on my Nanchang-Beijing flight on my way home.
i've been back in china for 8 days now... 4 days in beijing, 4 days in nanchang. noteworthiest of all news- from now on, no more atm fees for me! i found out that china construction bank is linked with bank of america, and i can withdraw money without incurring the $5 + 1% fee that china merchants bank was charging me. and it only took me three years to figure this out! i've come a long way from trying to western union myself money. 😉

good weather today- high of about 60 degrees, sunny, and a good day overall for walking around trying to find a place to set up the office. stopped at wal-mart to get lunch (don't ask...) then rode over to JQ's and spent the day looking at potential places to rent. some of these places don't have the flooring or anything installed yet, so it's pretty much all on us to figure it out (and pay for it). i really want to invest in a condo here, too- the prices are really reasonable and nanchang is a "city on the rise" in china. question is, how long do i want to stay here? if i

"Beef and rice" turned out to be meatballs, carrots, and peas- with rice.
do stay here, i'm inclined to want to stay in the district i am now.

i feel pretty unsure about the future in general. i think i've had a pretty difficult year... here's to hoping that the year of the tiger brings better times.

quick recap of today: woke 7am. wal-mart (lunch: stewed beef and carrots, stir-fried pork and celery, sauteed cabbage over rice: 6 RMB = less than $1 US. wei and i split it and we didn't finish it all). looked at rental properties with JQ. fruit stand- bought "cream" strawberries and dragonfruit. came home and had dinner delivered (crock with rice at the bottom, meat and vegetables on top... 20 RMB or about $3 US for two dishes). played qq airplane chess (can you say addicted?). now it's not even 10 pm and i'm soooo tired... definitely not like me to wake so early and sleep at a normal hour.
