It’s the Mid-Autumn holiday... and after working the actual holiday on Sunday, I am enjoying a nice three day break during the week...As usual, Monday was quiet lame, recovering from work... Tuesday my mission was to get the Mongolian visa, because this is were I will be heading during the October holiday in two weeks time... 5 days... but you will find out about that soon.
We went to the consulate here in Hohhot. 255 quai later we got our visa, ready to be picked up on Thursday. After that we checked out prices for flights back from Ulaanbaatar to Hohhot, which turned out quite expensive, so there is no definite itinerary about that trip yet, but you shall find out...
Anyway, the airline office is situated in one of the tall buildings of Hohhot, so being there we checked out the top floor which happened to have an open door to a balcony from where Johan (cause he had a camera) could take great pictures of the city from above... we could even spot our house which is in one of the parallel streets not far away... Hohhot, is an amazing city and I love it so much.
Today we
went to Wusutu Forest Park. A great day in the mountains. We hiked up the mountain with a group of people and a little dog, named Jia Bao who is under my „parenthood“ because my friend Tony went to his home town.
Anyway, Wusutu is a Forest park just outside Hohhot to the North. Bus No. 23 took us there for one and a half quai in 30 minutes leaving from the train station. We hiked up the mountain to sit on a massive lion head and enjoy a hazy view over Hohhot. Further up we had a little picnic under the shelter of a traditionally pagoda-shaped pavilion.
After restrengthening from the exhaustion of the walk, we had quite an experience because Amelie’s Canadian frisbee of high sentimental value ended up on the roof. But having a well equipped and athletic American around, using the intelligence of seven people we could get it back.
Eventually we chilled out under the shade of trees drinking beers, playing pool, discussing god and the world... what a beautiful day that one never wants to end...
Es is Mittel-Herbst (?)
The crowd
Amelie with JiaBao, CJ, Jackie, Johan and Mark in meiner Obhut befindet für die Zeit die Tony (sein Herrchen) sein zu Hause besucht.
So ja...
