Lost in Shanghai...as we by mistake were at the wrong train station to take the night train from Shanghai. But with enough time and experience of using the subway in rush hour we arrived in no time at the other train station and ... on time for our train to Guilin, South China.

Hours passed by quickly as we were glancing through the window witnessing the slowly changing landscape from industrial Shangai to the rice paddies and mountains around Guilin.

We based ourselves in Yangshuo, a small town, rented bikes and enjoyed the laid back biking among rice fields and beautiful mountain peaks from one village to the other.

We found out about a retreat spot where we stayed overnight just to look at the reflection of the mountains in the river that smoothly makes its way through the countryside...amazing! We also took a boattrip and hiked to the top of one of the mountain peaks. Just so beautiful and peaceful.

Next stop... overnight train to Kunming which puts us right on our way to Laos.
