Hi All,

Lovely to go to Shenzhen for the weekend and to escape the chilly weather here in Hunan. So with a wonderfully sunny and warm day I went to visit Lian Hua Shan park to see the statue of Deng Xiao Ping. Deng Xiao Ping was definitely a survivor after surviving many of Mao's purges and even ended up working in a tractor engine factory during the Cultural Revolution, while others like Liu Shao Qi were murdered. Although he was responsible for the opening up and economic reforms of the late 70s and early 80s he was also took a strong line with the protesters by sending in the army during the 1989 Tiananmen protests.

The gardens and bonsai trees through out the park were absolutely stunning. Such beautiful colours. The park was packed with lots of families with young children having pinics and playing games.

Enjoy the Photos

Jah Bless
