’恩宁Enning style‘ Social Media and Demolition of Guangzhou's Xiguan Architecture

Yesterday I took several photos of an ongoing demoliton in Guangzhou's Liwan District. Numerous Xiguan Style Villas with a mix of architectural styles are being destoryed. What makes this story interesting is the creative resistance of the neighborhood. When I photographed the demoliton many remaining structures had the word 停 (stop) painted on them instead of 拆 （demolish）. The Enning Road Concern Group raises awarness with different social networking outlets, and also made a brilliant satirical music video with residents dancing in the rubble.
