The Newton China-bound group, 2008
Suzannah, Sarah, Eliana, Mr. Goesselt, Jasmin, Mrs. Holzheimer, Lucy (in front of me,) Caroline, and Will Dear Memorial-Spaulding Community:
For the last twenty-some years, Newton Public Schools has has an exchange program with a K-12 school in Beijing, China. Each fall semester two Chinese teachers and a few students come here, live with host families, and attend Newton North and Newton South High Schools. During the second semester a Newton contingent travels to Beijing for a similar experience. On January 30 I will be traveling from Newton to Beijing as part of this wonderful exchange program. While there I will live with a family and teach English at the Jingshan School. I am quite proud and thrilled to have this opportunity and hope to share it with you by way of this Travel Diary. I will start this page with a few photographs. Watch for more entries beginning in early February.
Cheers!
Mrs. Holzheimer
