Genocide museum
Sector 21, converted from what used to be a high school This was mainly a travel day, with the ~300 km drive from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. We started the day with a quick visit to the Genocide museum in Phnom Pen (pretty disturbing), and then left the capital city for the temples of Siem Reap
On the way, we stopped at a pre-Angkor era temple complex Sambor Prei Kuk from the 9th century. While the details were not as well formed/developed as the Angkor temples, it was amazing to see what the Kings had envisoned 1,200 years ago! Other stops along the way included a market where they sold crickets and other creepy crawlies as a snack, and the beautiful Naga bridge.
