Well we are still in Phnom Penh, waiting for our washing and planning to leave tomorow. Yesterdday was Valentines day and I wanted to do something romantic and special with Leigh..


The Killing Fields

First stop on Jim's Valentine Love Express Tour was the Killing Fields. These are the Fields where there was Killing. Between 1975 and 1980 hundreds of thousands of people were tortured and killed by the Khmyear Rouge for being educated, urban, skilled, ethnic, religious, or enimies of the state. This was one of the sites where they killed and buried people in mass graves...after the regime change they dug up the skulls and built a monument. Inside there are thousands of skulls...10 stories of skulls...and the tour guides like to point out how they died..bullet holes, skull fractures, axe wounds..very romantic...I knew that I was scoring valentines points with Leigh already...so I went to stage two of my romance plan..

Shooting Range

Every single tuk tuk driver you get will ask you if you want to go to the Killing fields...then right after that they ask you if you want to go shoot some guns....Ive never shot a gun before and I thought what better place to learn than at an illegal shooting range in Cambodia....I also knew that Leigh would love this, because if there is somthing that an enviromentaly concioius girl would rather be doing than shooting guns on valentines day, I'd like to hear it.......anyway, the driver asked...we were in the Neighbourhood so we thought why not?...you get there and you sit down and look at the menu.. its a menu for guns*...M-16, AK-47, B-40 rocket launchers, grenades, anti aircraft guns, they had a large selection and if you wanted to pay the 200$ you got to shoot the bazzoka.....can you say romance?....so we decided on the AK47, they give you camoflauge gear and ear muffs and you shoot at a paper target....out of 30 bullets we hit the target guy 15 times....After that I decided to take Leigh out for a special dinner and some drinks on the town..


Bar Crawl

Ate at Happy Pizza again..had some 50 cent drafts, then decided to check out some of the night life. The thing about Phenom Penn's night life is that it is mostly all geared towards the older white male...or wierdo young male....almost every bar we went to there were dozens of young asian "hostesses" all dressed the exact same (at one place nurses)....and lots of old white dudes buying them drinks and chatting to them...the way it works, I think, is you buy the girl a drink, and she gets a dollar of the cost of that drink...I dont think its exactly prositution, but its in the same family...so the girls are really friendly and will talk to you and laugh at your jokes as long as you buy them drinks, which is perfect for all you weirdo freaks out there that are too ugly or weird to have real girls actually talk to you, you can come here and pretend that you are a stud and that girls actually care about star trek or dungens and dragons or whatever.....these are probably the sleeziest bars Ive ever been too.....but on the upside 1$ tequilla shots...anyway we didnt stay long at any places, hit 12 bars in total..took a sweet moto ride...

Traffic in PP

The thing about the roads here is that there are 10 times more moterbikes and tuk tuks than cars..so a 1 lane road quickly turns into a 4 or 5 lane road. There are no traffic rules that I know of...people just go whereever, drive on both sides of the road, cut people off. Its pretty crazy, anway we were both on the back of this bike and Leigh noticed that we were pulling up to a traffic light (the only one in town I think)....it had just turned red...the traffic from the left and right were just starting to cross and this dude steps on it runs the red light, cuts off 10 other drivers and weaves his way through oncomming traffic to get to the right side of the road...it was excellent..the best ride by far I have had in Asia...


so we got hammered and managed our way back to the hotel...bought a total of 26 or so drinks/shots/beers...cost 35$ including moto rides...a very enjoyable day

So if you too want to have Valentine Day Sucess just follow these key steps

1. Take you special someone first (if you can) to a place where horrible genicidal attrocities took place...
2. Shooting....the bigger the gun the better..try to shoot a heart shape for her...she'll appriciate it
3. Out for a night on the town with Old perverts and Whores...she'll be glad that she's with you and not a dirty old man

Follow these three steps next valentines day and you will have a romantic day you'll never forget.....


Thats it for now, heading to the S-21 Genocidal museam later....its an old school that they turned into a Jail/Torture center...the ladies just cant get enough of that stuff...Hope everyone had a nice valentines day
