Our lakefront hotel! Our lakefront hotel! Our lakefront hotel!

The sunsets were amazing
Well from battambang we arrived in Phnom Penh. Not to much to say about Phnom Penh. We mainly just explored the city the first day and got used to the surroundings. The backpacker area in Phnom Penh is really nice. We got a hotel right on the lake. Our room was apparently stayed in by Angilina Jolie the actress so that is why it was the most expensive room at 8$. The sunset from the patio was beautiful! We met another guy from BC that was also staying in our hotel. It was also the first Canadian we had met so far travelling.

The second day we woke up early and headed to the killing fields of Phnom Penh. It was crazy walking through there. There were mass graves of women and children that held up to 800 bodies. There was also areas where bones and people were buried and the bones and the clothes the people were wearing when they were killed were all coming up from underground. It was a very sad place. After the Killing fields we went to the S-21 genocide museum. It was where all the people were tortured and stored in all the prison

Not only were there soo many bikes and cars with no traffic control..there were also elephants and monkeys!
cells that were made. This museum was originally a school before it became a torture hall and holding cells. There were many different rooms with the torture beds with the original stuff that was used to kill the people. There was also pictures of the ways they were tortured and of all the people who were tortured. Our time in Phnom Penh was really hard on the heart. We are returning to Phnom Penh for one more day after our trip to the beach in Sihanoukville! Pictures are coming soon!

Lakefront hotel Phnom Penh
Hi Jazzermine My partner and I are travelling through PP in early April and trying to arrange accommodation. The lakefront hotel looks OK. Any negatives to it? What is the name?
