Ok - we left Thailand...
I think this place is cursed - danny and his "food poising"- i was so ill I even had to pass on shopping!!!! the only hi-light was watching harry potter on tv! Can you beleive Danny shopped without me - i knew i could mould him into a new man..not!
anyway - i managed to get on the bus to cambodia - this shoudl have been relatively simple bus, border, bus- well so we thought!!!!
first the bus journey was awful - there was an american guy on it who was paralysed and reaked of urine - totally minging and then we got scammed .the bus has to stop before teh border adn there are tuk tuks to take you to the border - so we duly got on teh tuk tuk which took us to a place to sort the visas out - it looked official and we assumed was the visa consulate just before the border- anyway - half way through the process we realised that these people were dodgy but they had already put teh visa in our passports - anyway we ended up wasting 10 US dollars each -
fortunatley teh visas were official - you shoudl have seen me at the visa entry point - i was convinced teh visas were fake but fortunately not - just overpriced!!
anyway - onwards and upwards - we had a further 2.5 hour jourbey to siem reap (cambodia)- we made friends with a nice couple (James and Beck) . we arrived adn are paying the grand price of $8 a night at our hostel/hotel- its fine -hot water, a fan - happy days.
Night one in Cambodia and paid $1 each to have our feet nibbled by little fish - seriously tickly! danny totally freaked and only last 5 mins!!! whimp!
Yesterday, i was still feeling a little ropey, so we took it quite easy - did a river cruise to a floating village - still not sure why they make it more difficult for themselves and have boats instead of huts - but there we go - hilarious seeing little boys paddling around in silver washing up bowls with a snake in trying to get tourists pay 1 dollar for a pic.
went to a croc farm on one of the boat houses - weird.
then headed by tuk tuk wiht our new buddies to chill out in a hammock - oh hard life....after sufficient chills we went to angkor watt - a huge temple for sun set..........danny prefers this to Taj Mahal - it was amazing but i don;t think so!!!
Eveninign night market of course!!!
Today we hired some bikes and did a 38k route around all the angkor temples - was great - by the end i was a bit done with temples - but they really are amazing.
Tomorrow we hope to spend Kirsty's chirstmas money on a cooking course - so not only indian cuisine on the menu *and ignore danny thoses spices will be invaluable, but hopefully some noodles and stuff to look forward to from us, on our return.
hope everyone is not missing us too much!
Bye for now.....Mrs B x
