Here is Belinda, retrieving data for our study. We just got back from our first Center presentation of the preliminary results of our Study to Assess the Impact of Food Support on WFP Beneficiaries at TASO. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the impact of food support on clients. We had two overarching research questions:
- What does food support mean to the HIV-positive clients who receive it?
- What will the elimination of food support mean for clients?
Our hypothesis was that food support plays a significant role in clients’ households, particularly with regard to dietary diversity and access to food. Our questionanire had about 25 questions and encompassed the following sections:
- Descriptive data (demographics, etc.)
- Food sources and use
- Household diet diversity score (HDDS)
- Meal frequency
- Household food insecurity access score (HFIAS)
- Income and assets
- Antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence
We have several interesting results, but they are best displayed in graph form, so I can't upload them. In summary, food support is important to clients who recieve it. Seventy-seven percent of clients put it in their top 3 food sources. If you want more info, email me!
We have also been pursuing an equally

(see friends peeking out of window) difficult task, which is to show SUZY'S friends the sights of Uganda. Now, her friends are not actually here, but they have sent paper doll versions of themselves, and we are taking them around with us. Please see photos.
