CAPE TOWN is one of my favorite cities in the world. Table Mountain is the most important landmark of the city, standing right in the heart of it, surrounded by patches of forests and beaches. From the top of Table Mountain, we’re drinking in a 360-degree panorama of the City Bowl and bay area. This is after all 1,086 meters above sea level, high enough to see the Twelve Apostles running for miles towards Cape Point, and the bay disappearing into the horizon. On the 3km-long plateau, we even spot an outrageously cute dassie(a myrax that resembles a guinea pig) scuttering across grey rocks. I laugh when I learn that the dassie’s closest living relatives are modern day elephants.

From our base in beautiful Camps Bay, we’ll be exploring a whole lot of Cape Town and its surroundings, including watching penguins at Boulders Beach, savoring grilled seafood at Hout Bay and driving all the way to Cape Point.
