Our truck to take us across africa for the next 19 days

Township of Langa - Cape Town

Our first day of the tour included a township tour. We went the township of Langa. There were hundreds of little shacks made from scrap metal & iron sheets and this is reallyhow people live. The little kids were so excited to see us. We got to see inside the hostel houses were 12 families live in a 4 bedroom place.

This after noon we made our way to our first camp at Highlanders. The food we have been having is pretty good. Just the same as home... as well as Pap... their staple food which looks like potato mash but definitely doesnt taste like that.

The next day we drove to Orange River which is the border of South Africa and Namibia. We went canoeing which was quite cool but hard work. We paddled for 7.5km with some small rapids and lots of relaxing in between paddling. Another great campsite but we all got given our duties for the tour. Cooking, Washing, Packing & Truck Cleaning Teams were made and each day you do a different duty. We've all decided that Washing up is the worst job and cooking is

the best *even if you do have to get up 15 minutes earlier than every one else).

The following day we drove most of the day so we could get across the border into Namibia.
