At Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Hey,
Only one day left in sunny and windy Cape Town, then off to wet and sunny Jo'Burg. Started taking malaria tablets already, not fun but hey, better than getting malaria.... LOL.
Been doing nothing over the last couple of days, just sunbathing, and having lie ins like sensible and normal teenagers.
Sunday we went on the bus again. It was really good. Went to Kirstenbosch gardens, and had a look around there, even though it was raining. We sat on a bench for a while, and read our books. The flowers were pretty, but it would have been better if it was sunny and not England-like weather (rain)!
Then we went to a place called Imazamo Yethu... It is a township near a place called Hout Bay, and we had a walking tour around it. It was really interesting. We looked in some houses that had been newly built by an Irish foundation, and they were small, but compared to the shacks, they must be like living in a house like Hugo's!!
We went into their shops, and they were selling everything... food, fruit, washing powder, all sorts of things. We looked in the community
Bird of Paradise flower
For you Mum... your favourite flower. centre, where they train people how to use computers, and they have rooms for mosaics, sewing, and all sorts of things that people can make money from.
There were these 3 little boys, about 4/5 years old, and they were really cute. They followed us all the way round the rest of the tour, and they were holding our hands, and being really sweet. They wanted to hold the umbrella with me, when it started to rain... We gave them a polo mint each, and they were over the moon.
We looked around the local healers house, and saw the consultation room, and also looked in the pre-school, which was very plain and very basic, the playground was just a concrete area. No toys or anything to play with.
Then at the end, we went to the health clinic, and were told about the different sessions that are held there. Child health, HIV/AIDS clinics and suchlike.. It was fascinating really.
Then we were too lazy to walk up the steps of hell again, so we got a taxi... HAHA lazy people... and then we had to walk up Nettleton Road to Hugo's house, but that wasn't too
Imazamo Yethu
Township that we went to... very interesting bad, even though it was raining.
Today we set off at about 8:30am to walk up Lion's Head. We had been walking for about 45 mins, when we were taking some photos of the view, and then Russell (The crazy dog) appeared along the path, looking all excited about finding us. He had obviously escaped, and come to find us...
We had to take him back to the house, and Giovanni had been looking for him, he had even looked at the beach, as Russell sometimes escapes and goes there.
We are leaving tomorrow morning, and Remington is picking us up at 8am.... I will be getting up at about... ummm.... 7:57am... Not really mother, don't fret. We are gonna get up at about 7 to give us enough time!! Anyway, i am already packed (and only repacked once!).
