We're here...We're actually here!

After 12 hours of flying (including no sleeping) and a change to the itinerary we are now in the Chill and Surf Hostel in Slangkop, near Kommetjie. Not quite as close to the beach as we would have liked, but fantastic views of the mountains and we can see the sea!!

We spent last night in Kommetjie with some other i-to-i'ers. We are now masters in west African drumming and we rock. We will be bringing some home to share with you all - we are even practised at the chanting which will send you into a trance (literally!)...mothers beware!!!

We ate some South African food - not sure of the names but the sweet syrupy things were delicious. We have also sampled some local drinks and are now addicted! We met a lady called Easter who had two lovely doggies who were friendly and kept us company while we tried not to fall asleep during our veggie lasagne - yes they do understand what a vegetarian is!!

Very boringly, however, our journey took its toll and we ended up in bed asleep by 9pm! Lizzie even managed to sleep through the loudest, nearest thunderstorm in the world - that it not an exageration!

Headteachers and four year olds!
Are you sure it was a thunderstorm and not your room mates snoring? Very glad to hear you have arrived safely and are beginning to find your feet but I'm not so sure of the alcohol addictions!I'll get the books in the post as soon as possible meanwhile have fun and be safe. Love from us all at home xxx

A Lot More 2 Go
Sounds cool! Nothing more exciting than eating strange foods but don't ask what's in it until you've burped ;-) I am having a good time in Canada myself, my eyes are so near to popping out, shops are great and so cheap. Looking forward to you next posting. Take care! XXX

Oh yes! You only tell us what you want us to hear!!
Hi Lizzie and Hannah O.K. Here is the experienced mother of a traveller of two months so I know what not to put on this blog otherwise you won't let it through. So I promise not to put anything embarasing that others would see and nothing fussy!!! OK. Are you being good? eating well? not staying out too late and meeting dubious people ??? Whoops sorry, promised not to do that. Have a wonderful time. At least I have girlies on two continents to check in on. KAt's latest is seeing and getting a photo of a humming bird!!! Lots of love from us in Suffolk.
