"This diving is not for everyone". These are the words used today by the divemaster in charge. I first planed to do a single blog entry about the South of Durban...till I found out that Shelly Beach is actually 80km south of Umkomaas...not really next door. I agree, I could have done my homeworks better before coming here. Shelly beach is a lot less geared to divers and more to holidaymakers. I s... Read Full Entry

What a lot of sharks!
Wow, what fab pics of all those sharks. With your description of how the sharks come up to check you out from below, we probably would have chickened out and swam away! Looks like you had a fab time diving there in SA but bet you are glad to be home with family! Hope you are all well, Donna and Neil x

Hi Ali!
Thanks for your comment. Thanks a lot to send Ma'ri the edited pic of the devil's rays. Look great1 You are right, beside trimming a bit, I don't edit my pics at all....what you get is actually what i saw...well...what i saw is actually better. I know that I could photoshop a lot of my pics and they would look way better...but at the same time, it is kind of nice to see what you get...is the result of a basic camera...and no photoshop at all... next diving in 3 weeks...guess it will not be that impressive. Seems we'll be able to organise a solid Christmas drink in KL this year as few serious bloggers are moving there....you know I guess who I speak about...

WOW
I'd never get the nerve [and the funds ;-)] to do what you do, Peter. I can only live and experience all these adventures vicariously as an armchair traveler reading your wonderful blogs. I'd keep saying "safe travels" even if you don't pay heed to caution. But honestly my friend, you have a great lifestyle! C'est la vie!

Thanks a lot for all your comments...
Hi everybody, thanks a lot for all these great comments. Next dive is in 3 weeks, in another slightly remote place. August will also see our first dive in Europe, may not be as exiting! Can't wait the summer holidays coming in a few days! Love!

I surely would have died of fright had I been there! I would also not be taking pictures from fear of getting attacked any moment. Kudos to what you managed to do!

wow again and again!
Peter, you sure know how to enjoy life!. We saw sharks when we were in Sipadan and it was amazing, but I think this experience you had here would have been a bit too much for me... scary!!!!. I love your blogs and I'm looking forward to the next! Deni
