Fly from Heathrow on the 30th of October.
First stops Johannesburg, the main city, where we stay in the eastern suburds with Andrew's cousin and friends. Also go to Pretoria, the legislative capital of South Africa, for a birthday party at Heinrich's. See a performance of the Lion King at Montecasino.
This province is called Gauteng. It is unusually green for this time of year, the locals say. The weather is very pleasant during our stay - a daily very short thunderstorm keeps things cool - otherwise sunny with little humidity.

Andrew and Ray are travelling for eight months.
June 2007 - cycling from Geneva to Vienna via Lausanne, Luzern, Liechtenstein, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Graz.
July 2007 - staying in Vienna.
August 2007 - cycling from Vienna to Berlin via the Danube, the Limesstrasse, Kassel, Hannover and Dresden.
September 2007 - staying in Berlin.
October 2007 - through Denmark by bike then by boat to England and plane to Channel Islands - visiting friends/family
November 2007 to January 2008 - South Africa for 3 months of visiting friends/family, safaris, hiking, beachcombing and wine tastin... full info
