Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwmmmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy eeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsssssssssss hhhhhhuuuuuuurrrrrrtttttttttt!
Don't believe a single word of the previous journal. It's a total lie but it's probably what most people think is reality in Soweto.

It's actually great. Staying at one of the best backpackers I have ever been to.
Locals are fantastic. They have a real passion for life.
We've had numerous lifts from locals, been helped everywhere we've been.

I've already been asked a number of times by the local homies to tell everyone how great Soweto, Jo'burg and South Africa is. So...COME TO SOWETO, JO'BURG AND SOUTH AFRICA...IT'S GREAT!!

Yes, it is a little dodgy at night but you act the same as you would wherever you go.

So, so far I've done:

- got tout tickets for Argentina v Korea for $30 😊
- got tout tickets for USA v Slovenia for $20 😊
- had a few beers
- caught public transport everwhere. Yes, with those scary black people.
- walked through downtown Jo'burg. Has that NYC vibe.
- ate a chesburger pie
- been blinded by the bold colours of Africa
- my best impression of a Welsh tramp
- got interviewed by CNN
- scraped ice off my tent every

Celebrating the 1976 uprising
morning 😞((((((((((
- done lots of random walks behind presenters whilst filming (yes, I am still 12 😉
- Got told off by Al Jazzera tv anchorman when he was doing a live shoot
- visited Hector Peterson square on the anniversary of the 16 June 1976 Soweto uprising when 560 school children were gunned down by the fuzz whilst protesting against Apartheid. Lots of famous footy players in attendance inc.

Vieira..oooohhhhhhhhh...
he comes from Senegal....
he plays for Arsennnallllllllll
Vieiiiiiiirrrrraaaaa.....ooohhhohohohohoohhhhhhhhh

One of the most passionate celebrations I've ever seen in my life. Local kids doing flash mob dance offs in remembrance of their forebearers. Chanting, singing, dancing in the way that only. Just powerful stuff. Made my hairs stand on end.

Now off to find some cheap tix for Brazil v Ivory Coast and then have a cow's head for lunch

Oh, and if one more person blows a fucking horn in my ear...
