Funny and insightful commentary and some excellent wildlife photography in your 'safari' blogs! We have a fascination with elephants and recently read that, due to the high demand for ivory in the Far East, many poachers find it financially
viable to hunt these wonderful animals by helicopter. The thugs shoot any number from the sky above, land, hack off the tusks, load up, and are quickly gone from the area. The article went on to say that during a recent 3-year period more than 100,000 of these intelligent creatures had been slaughtered.
