St. Columba Church in BlantyreSt. Columba Church in Blantyre
St. Columba Church in Blantyre

We actually arrived and had to wait for a wedding...THEN the singing started. The singing was actually quite nice...
Okay folks, this is going to be a short one...

I am supposed to be on here looking up NUTRITION facts because I will be teaching ALL next week by myself. 20+ hours on Nutrition...Yikes.

Not to mention, the most recent Nutrition textbook in our library is from like 1963...

BUT, I did find one book titled Nutrition: For Developing Countries, by Felicity Savage King and Ann Burgess which is actually relevent to Malawi, but doesn't have too much depth to it. We will see how it goes!

My cat, Zuze (zoo-zey) and I are still alive. And we encountered more bugs, and like 8.5 million spiders under my sink. I took a picture of the one that tried to crawl up my leg one morning, and I did find that Raid did work on him. Unfortunately, it also encouraged the other, faster, baby spiders to come out of hiding and attack me! I, being the brave soul that I am, sprayed the room and closed the door. I didn't open it for some time, but was happy to see most of them dead, or at least not moving like the one I took a picture of.

And I was only gone 4 weeks, but I somehow managed to accumulate not just dust, but DIRT all over everything in my house. It was gross.

I also went with Elly (the VSO here at my site - refer to earlier blogs I'm sure I have mentioned her before) to Blantyre (yes, I was BACK in Blantyre AGAIN) for a chior competition. The local CCAP church chior was competing against 70 other churches...it was nice, but I don't think anyone was expecting 70 CHURCHES so it took ALL DAY. But, I am not complaining... :)

Oh, and we have had to say goodbye to both our principle and deputy principle over the last 2 weeks because they are going back to school...so that plays a part into why I am teaching 20 hours of Nutrition next week!

Okay, I hope to get back on here the first week in October. We will see... Tiwonana!

Your kitty is cute. I told your Mom you named it after her.
