Joyeux Noel and Merry Xmas from Ethiopia

Bonjour a tous!

Je profite d'un cafe internet qui est ouvert et qui fonctionne pour envoyer a tous un petit message de Noel. Je pense bien a vous tous et j'espere que vous passez un bon Noel en famille ou avec des amis. Je suis a Gonder dans le nord de l'Ethiopie, voila une semaine que nous nous balladons en 4X4 dans ce pays fabuleux et etonnant. Nous avons passe le reveillon de Noel dans les Simiens Mountains a 3,000 metres d'altitude entoures de montagnes immenses, enfants bergers pieds nus, colonies de babouins, chevaux, anes, villages en pierre...bref un Noel bien depaysant!

J'ai mis quelques photos (deja 450 photos!) pour vous donner une petite idee de la beaute des gens et des paysages. Le pays est grandiose, les couleurs tres belles et les visages et sourires extraordinaires.

Dans mon prochain blog je mettrai plus de photos et je decrirai bien sur ce que nous avons vu et fait. Je serai de retour en Afrique du Sud le 1er Janvier. Je vous embrasse tous. A bientot.

Hello and Merry Xmas!

Just a quick email and a few photos (as a teaser for the rest to come later) while we have an internet cafe that is not only open but also with a connection working today - god knows what it will be tomorrow!

So, this has been almost a week in Ethiopia and I have to say I am jsut blown away by the beauty of the country, the sights and the people. Ethiopia is like no other country I have seen so far and I am completely under its spell.

We are having a blast, our 4X4 is doing well, our driver seems to know where he is going, the food is very unique and quite good. We and all of our belongings are covered in a thick layer of dust! Not sure what color my hair is anymore...and what was I thinking when I packed my white cargo pants!?

There is so much to describe and explain...I will post a more complete blog and more pictures next week when I am back in South Africa. I just wanted to get this out to say hi to everyone and merry xmas.

happy new year : que cette année t apporte la santé , du bonheur et de l amour. ns espérons tjs te voir.pt etre en2007. Demain je reprend mes bonnes habitudes.Je prend un cours de cuisine au jardin . Gabriel débute son stage à l école du cirque avec sa chérie lisa(petite blonde aux yeux bleus depuis la 1ére année de maternelle) Aprés le stage il déjeune chez elle... j ai hate de te lire à nouveau. et de t entendre. bisous ton amie sandrine
