Thursday, 8/5/10 – Up a bit later than usual to pack things up and get ready for the drive back to Anchorage and the flight home. Flight was to leave at 7:30 PM (actually left around 8:30) so we had plenty of time to get there. Anne got up and did her 4 miles of walking along the roads near the motel while I went up the road to a restaurant and got breakfast. We made it to Anchorage around 3:00 PM and just turned in the car and hung out at the airport. Visited the military lounge there run by the YMCA instead of the USO. Very nice facility. For information – the airport in Anchorage has free WiFi. Since we did not do much on this last day and took no pictures I'll just add some miscellaneous pictures on this last page. Many are of flowers. There were a lot of wildflowers along the trails, and I took quite a few pictures of them. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to knowing the names of the various flowers so feel free to add a comment to any picture if you know the name of any

I think these red berries are called bear berries but could be something else. Looked a little like red black berries.
of the flowers in the pictures.

Hope you enjoyed reading about our trip and viewing some of the pictures we took.

This is the sign for the goat trail at the trailhead at Bridal Veil Falls parking area on the highway between Wrangell-St. Elias NP and Valdez. Taken especially for Emily.

Don't know what kind of berry this is but the red pod-shaped things at the bottom of the picture I'm pretty sure are rose hips.

These are rose hips according to the young man we met on the Mt. Healy trail.

Thanks. We did have a great time. Not sure what is next - maybe some of the Florida parks. Will wait for winter for that trip though.
