Supping Champagne in the limo
Writing my first journal entry............. all the way from Yorkshire!

My last night out was the Saturday just gone and we all went through to Wakefield for one last pissup......by limo of course! (big thanks to Budge....whoosti!)

Not quite sure how much booze we went through but it's left a big hole in my pocket. I'll need to adjust to budget mode if my brass is going to last more than a few weeks. I'm from Barnsley afterall, working down 'pit doesn't go too far!

Anyway.....onto business.....the itinerary

The plan is to train it round Europe for 3 weeks, head off for a few days in Singapore, 3 months touring the east coast of Oz, 1 and half months in New Zealand exploring the North and South Island, a week or so in Fiji chilling out (coup or no coup!) and finally, a week and half in sunny California and Nevada. For those who know me, you'll know I like the odd flutter, so all going well, cashback time in Vegas.....watch this space!

Anyhow thats my first journal out of the way, not sure how often I'm going to write these so keep checking for updates.

As they say in the Middle East, Dubai!

Few tips for Italy
Florence - There's a Tourist information Office straight across the road from the railway where you can get free maps and any info other info (They speak good English). Sienna - Try to get there on a Sunday, they seem to hold festivals, marches, processions and other events on that day through the walled town. Rome - Watch your pockets around Trevi Fountain, also top left corner of the Trevi Fountain Piazza as you look at the water, there's a nice sandwich shop which the locals us. Cheap prices and good food/drink. Pantheon seems to have live musicians at night. Good place for a drink. Venice - Don't eat, drink or even sit in cafe in St Marks Square - rip-off city, pop round a side-street. Also for the blog - jot down some one-word reminders on a bit of paper - e.g. date, city, special places and memories so that when you write your blog some time down the road, you've got a memory jogger. Hope the weather's still keeping up - it's bleeding freezing here. Papa
