Again today was a lazy day. We hung around the pool all day leaving mum's white legs with a tip of sunburn on the top making her look even more ridiculous than what her ridiculously white legs already did (sorry mum). Again we had the pool to ourselves for the majority of the time with only one Scandinavian sunbaking. Pa was sitting there with the antenna for his radio spiralling all the way up the tree, mum was reading Readers Digest and I came back up to the room to read on the balcony; I have no idea where Nana was or what she was doing.
After lunch and an hour or so of very heavy rain mum went down to find the pool empty, surprise, surprise, I carefully tipped ¼ of a bottle of ice cold water down mums back before jumping in the pool in hysterics - the look on mums face was priceless! Nana and Pa met us down at the pool after failing to convince them to come down for a few hours because it was raining, and we played with the pool balls. I 'accidentally' hit Nana on the back of her
head quite hard, I can assure with it was a fluke because my hand-eye-coordination skills are nearly non-existent.
The pool-boys turned the water on on the kiddy slide so I decided to go down, knowing that it's only 2m long I thought it would be boring but boy was I wrong. Halfway down, the slide has a kink in it which apparently is quite large and violently sent me flying the other way, which not only scared the hell out of me but hurt my back, but as only mum can do I was instructed to go down two more time so she could take a photo of the 'priceless look on face".
For dinner we went out to a restaurant called Max which is always full of people so we decided to find out why. It turns out that the restaurant's menu is ¾ Scandinavian food which attracts them all as they seem to only be here to sunbake not too immerses themselves in Thailand; I don't see why they don't buy a $14 bottle of spray-tan to save money and save themselves from skin-cancer but anyway. Our food was nice, but considering we were
eating Thai food in Thailand they didn't seem to know much and gave us tinned vegies. Nana and Pa didn't seem to enjoy dinner as they were fed up with the overcrowding, smoking, loud and arrogant people there (including the staff), I can't blame them.
On the way back to the hotel Pa stopped a pancake man riding a pushbike. Pa ordered the banana pancake, which turned out to be banana and egg-probably so the guy got more money, it was fascinating watching the guy make it; everyone here is so good at their job, they put so much effort and practise into it, Australia should take a note! Mum and I went down for a late-night swim before having an early night.
