bath time
whicha giving soi-tong her bathLets see, been up to so much the past week. Where should i start?
Soi-tong. I think that she has stated to listen to a little more now, altho she still goes after anything yellow. started taking more and more tourists. and more and more showers, running out of dry clothes. everyday whicha takes me on his bike, to the local market to buy fruit for soi-tong. not that she's spoilt or anything. also been out in the evening to take soi-tong to the forest or field, so that she can graze all night and sleep. then in the morning we go and collect her and take her for a bath in the lake or a shower.
getting on really well with all the mahouts, been trying to teach english, but would rather teach us thai. we had to show them a map of the world the other day as they thought that thailand was between ireland and england. but they got confused about the world being round. so we brought them a ball with the map of the world on it. needless to say they enjoyed playing football with it. untill whicha kicked it upin to a tree
why nam
having fun at the pool and got it stuck. so we have now moved on to jenga and connect four, seems to be going down well.
last week we also went grass cutting which turned into quite an adventure. let's just say that mr tong's truck was about due for the scrapyard. it has no brakes, had to be bump started and looks like an elephant or two have had a fight it. so was a bit of a hairy ride. grass cutting didn't go too well either, we were all cutting away , only to be interupted by. mr pong screaming and running out of the grass, shouting. when we looked up from our cutting we discovered that there was a poisonous snake waiting for us. so that was the end of that. and after bump starting the truck again, we returned to the camp.
The weekend was pretty much spent lazing around the pool, saturday evening we enjoyed a lovely meal in central pattaya at a irish pub. after which we explored the local night life. which seemed to include nothing but go go bars. lets just say a very interesting evening.
Monday brought with it 7 more volunteers. so

whicha looking official the camp is really busy. also three more elephants have come to the camp over the past two days, including a mum and baby. the baby who is 8 years old, can do lots of tricks, he can play football, play golf, bow, paint and loads of things. he was trained to work in shows.
been grass cutting again today. Mr tong's truck had been in for repairs so started first time, yey. altho our trip was not with out disater. it was all great untill we all piled back into the truck to head for a different spot. so as we are driving along the road over the lakes. we suddenly notice that part of the road is missing. but having very poor brakes we didn't stop in time. we dicovered when the truck was repaired mr tong didn't have enough money to repair the brakes. the front wheels went over. but the back wheel got stuck and ripped off the suspention. luckly no one was injured. so it was all hands on deck to lift, push and pull the truck back out of the hole. but belive it or not, mr tong still managed to drive it

after getting us all wet several times. we got our own back back to the camp. so it is not the end.

Hey baby, looks like your having great fun. keep the photos coming. all looks great. missing you like crazy, saving hard to do my own traveling.. you have really inspired me to get off my bum and do this now. love you loads and loads, stay focused.... x
