Mine are the blue pair. Jeanette, the silly rabbit, bought two pairs!
Jeanette and I were supposed to go out to a club that we have free tickets for this past Friday. That didn’t go down as planned. Instead, we went and got a bottle of wine, sat in her room and went from silly to reflective and then to sleep. People back home should know that I’ve been drinking a lot of wine as of late. I think we are supposed to go down to the local store tonight to stock up during the wine sale. So as you’ve guessed by now we didn’t party at all this weekend and stayed in on Friday but went shopping on Saturday.

I’ve been wearing my Japanese boots here to my placements and as nice as they look, they are extremely uncomfortable here for tramping around on the streets of Glasgow. With an older city comes older streets and uneven pavement. We both bought shoes from New Look. For people back home who know me as the shopping queen I should let you know that, if I had money to spend, I would be like a kid in a candy store here. Glasgow is definitely a place for the serious shopper. It’s too bad that I have to be miserly cheap while studying here. I did splurge a bit for these shoes and don’t regret it at all!

We went out to go grocery shopping today but made a detour over to the clothing shops again. You’ll be happy to know I did control myself but Jeanette took me to Top Shop and it was like being in heaven. She told me that they usually have a great Boxing Day sale where you can buy one get the second one free. Sam, we must go there! *Whoa I just realized I typed clothing ‘shops’ instead of ‘stores’, maybe I’m going native*. Next thing you know I’ll be saying trousers instead of pants.

We should be doing work, not shopping and writing in blogs but maybe it’s much harder than I thought to get back to reading really dry articles and writing in a very restricted and standardized way. Jeanette was just in my room taking a break from her work. She said she can’t focus for more than 20 minutes. I don’t blame her. At least she can stay awake while reading about “assessment is for learning”. She and I seem to have a good routine going now. She gets bored and comes to my room, looks out the window and makes some choice comments about freshers, pokes through the stuff I have on my desk, badgers me about the blog , gets up to do some dancing to the music I have playing on my computer and finally leaves to get another cup of tea.

RATE THE FISH UPDATE:
Fish #2 is mine
Fish #3 is Ryan’s
Fish #4 is Jeanette’s

It was interesting that most of you knew which one was mine’s. Jeanette thought it was interesting that many of you thought Ryan’s was hers.

You would love it here. Glasgow is totally a mecca for shopping. If I could afford to, oh my god I would lose my mind!
