We were walking mostly downhill on the last day. The trek was only a couple of hours and was definitely the easiest day! Olly crossd a monkey bridge which was like something out of Indiana Jones! We stopped for lunch and then went bamboo rafting. It was really great-as it had been raining so much the water was fast and we had to hold on really tight at some points! When we got back to the hotel we had the longest showers ever!SO good!

This huge beetle caught our eye as we were waiting while Pan cut us some bamboo walking sticks for the steep and slippery descent.

The bamboo pole running up the middle of the tree is actually a LADDER!! The jungle people use it in the dry season to harvest honey from bees that nest at the top.

This massive snail was going at about the same pace as us as we neared the end of the final day.

Sandra crossing the comparatively safe and easy brigde. The 'Monkey bridge' was a only two bamboo poles wide and Olly had to duck under and climb over tree banches.

Bamboo rafting with Ian and Mike. At times we thought our time was up, especially when our driver lost his bamboo 'steering wheel' and we were heading for a tree pretty quickly! The ride only lasted less than the usual hour because the flow was so strong after the heavy rains.

At the end of a tiring three days, the Portugese boys take time out from loading bags on to the truck to pose for one final photo.

Tree ladder
I think the Health and Safety Commitee should examine that ladder!
