Sitting at the bar with two nice looking Medalists from the Pan AM games here at Toronto international airport. To my left, the Brazilians sit with less then a normal sense of humor and to my right good ok' Canuks headed to Barcelona for 8 days. Married 23 years with 3 children...maybe 4...if I hadn't had so much wine I could recall. We chuckle at various things that occur through the two hours and talk about our trips. Great looking couple and I would put money on if we weren't headed in different directions, we would be great friends. The staff at this Indian food bar are friendly and comical. I have spent well over $50 enjoying some Indian fare and Italian white wine 😊 life is good!
I have been able to chat with a few important people, my patio guy Dave who has done my patio for the hot tub while I was in-transit Paul, Sherry, Brian, Rob and Amanda.
After leaving the bar and preparing to load the plane, we were ushered into 3 different lines based on your assigned seats. It is there that I met Joshua a fashion, designer, model and consultant. He's a
tall, young man in his 20s with slicked back jet black hair and light green eyes. He was on his way to Bosnia to meet a girl by the name of Andrea whom he met on line. He says "I know it seems odd but we have talked lots and even on video. She's a student there and I feel very safe." While standing in line, we realized he would be in the seat behind me during the long flight. He is greeted by a young woman and they exchange surprised hellos. The young woman was headed to Persia where she is going to go study with a shaman. I found this VERY interesting.
Joshua used my name regularity throughout our conversations and had a childish yet fresh demeanour about him. He asked, "will they serve us alcohol on this flight?" And when I assured him they would and as much as he wanted he was over joyed. He was worried about making in 8 hours without a cigarette. Once on board, he grabs my carry on for me and slings it into the over head. Throughout the flight, he touched base with me leaning over the seat, "you
ok Andrena? Is there anything you want?" I chuckle and the stewardess who sits facing me due to the seat I got, winks at me.
The flight was great with the extra leg room. Seat 33k on Lufthansa. I didn't manage to sleep but 20 minutes even with 3 glasses of wine on board and two in the airport! By all rights, I should have passed right out! Just practicing for the "Wine Not" evenings with Gry. We were served chicken for dinner and I watched a couple of movies. Before too long, we were descending upon Frankfurt, Germany. It's 8:30 and according to my ticket, I have 1 hour to get my connecting flight. One the plane was ready to depart, Joshua says to me, "Andrena, hold these books for me, I will grab your bag." A true sweetheart. We wished one another well and I took off running.
As I approached security, I recalled the ordeal I went through last year. This year, I didn't have to remove my jacket or shoes! All was good! Through customs, the officer stamped my passport and pointed me in the right direction for my gate 'A'. Once my gate
was located, I get the news that I am delayed by 30 minutes. Huffing and puffing, sweating it out, I grab a coke from the wiener vendor inside the airport. Now working with Euros, a bottle of coke cost me €2.95 ....I will have to see the conversion before heading off to Barcelona.
The plane leaves on time and I am happily off to Norway. It doesn't take long before we are descending at the Oslo airport. I notice it is raining quite hard, I get off the plane and through duty free in record time, picking up copious amounts of white wine
