Travel Companion - PED (Paul Edward Davies)

Duration - 6 nights

Movies watched on flight - American Sniper and Johnny Wick

Plane companions - English couple who did not speak to me - result!

Lets, get back to South Terminal at Gatwick and awaiting PED's arrival. PED works for a Consultancy company. When I found out he was going to Sin City for a 'nerd' conference I invited myself along....free accommodation at The Cosmopolitan, why 'thank you!'. PED was traveling business class and I was stuck in crappy economy, however, entry into the Virgin Lounge and my bloody Mary, softened the blow (well, not really). This was my 5th trip to Vegas and it was all about the tanning, some shopping, chilling, and, maybe, finally that helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. I will tell you now the Grand Canyon tour, never happened....next time!

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and with PED's negotiation skills, we were upgraded to a pimpin' suite....corner balcony, overlooking the Bellagio fountains and an en-suite as big as my bedroom! Quickly unpacking we headed down to the pool area to explore. No men for me to look at but plenty of chicks for PED. Jetlag kicked in so a quick nap before we headed to Hakkasan at MGM Grand so listen to some old-skool DJ's. The drinks flowed, and the party people came out to play. Girls basically wearing nothing and the men wearing too much. What had happened to a place that used to have so many cute guys! PED - 1 Sonja - 0. We called it a night at 5am.

The next few days were filled with my usual Las Vegas routine - up early to hit the pool and bake in the glorious sun for a few hours. After all, vitamin D is a necessity! Spending most days on my own I had to bite the bullet and execute a few selfies - there is no way I'd be as good as my cousin, Kass. Once the sun set I'd hit the shops and check out the strip and grab a bite to eat. PED did manage to interrupt my tanning and get me to hit Marquee Day Club, but it was a bit crap, and my only source of entertainment was a drunk guy from Brooklyn. I also noticed that cork wedges were worn by most chicks....are they back in?! I did not get the memo. Then again, American's (sorry, Jen!) have never flown the flag for fashion.

Wednesday night I crashed one of PED's work dinners. We visited downtown Vegas and it was really nice to get away from the strip and enjoy delicious food and free poured vodka and lemonade. After dinner, we headed to Encore Beach Club. Now, this was one place to party, however, the music was interrupted by Lil John, who has to be the worst DJ(?) I have ever witnessed. An appearance by Amber Rose was a nice surprise. We had top cabana service and partied the night away. I have never seen so much flesh and so many hooters! Girls do not put them away in Vegas! PED was pretty happy. Got home very late/early and this is why I did not do the Grand Canyon helicopter ride....there was no way I was going to make it onto a helicopter!

The Thursday was tough! I spent most of the day sleeping and by the pool. My mate PJ flew into Vegas so he came up to our pimp pad, we caught up over a few beers, partook in some gambling (next time - black!), caught up and he taught me how to smoke a cigar on our awesome balcony overlooking the fountains. What more could you want for last night in Sin City.

Next stop......Hawaii
